Nova Race has brought to the absolute debut in Gran Turismo the promising Gabriel Moretto
The young driver from Vicenza, put to the test for the first time with the Honda NSX GT3 Evo in a test in Cervesina, shows great maturity and professionalism that conquers the team from Varese
The test season that will cement strategies and staff that will face the races of the Italian Gran Turismo for Nova Race has already started. Next to the ordinary administration that will gradually bring the team from Varese to line up in full shape at the start, scheduled this year at Misano Adriatico on 4 and 5 May, an interesting cue came from a recent test day at the Tazio Nuvolari Circuit.
At Cervesina (PV) for the first time a very young driver climbed into the Honda NSX GT3 Evo of Luca Magnoni’s team: 16-year-old Gabriel Moretto. The driver from Altavilla Vicentina has been active in karting since 2013, where he distinguished himself for two years as the best young driver in the Triveneto region and then two years ago, as a seal on so many victories, he lifted the Easykart 100cc World Champion cup, as well as winning the Junior Rok 125cc and Easykart 100cc tricolour championships. Last year he was the best rookie in the BMB Challenge 125cc Italian Championship.
The Team Manager of the Lombardy team Christian Pescatori does not hide the positive outcome of the day for the young promise: ‘he presented himself with an excellent business card, seeing his results in karting and also the fact that his career is followed by a serious and prepared ex-colleague of mine like Augusto Farfus is indicative. This was matched by a test in which I was very impressed by his professional approach and the great concentration he showed in every minute of his relationship with the team on and off the track. For the next season Nova Race will not lack the availability of good guides, but considering the great maturity of the rider for his age and the very good times he immediately got on our Honda, I do not hide that we would like if soon or in the near future this day in Cervesina would open the door to a closer relationship’.
COMMENT AUGUSTO FARFUS (professional driver and driver manager) ‘I have always been a supporter of the driver who comes from karting, and in my opinion it is a training that helps a lot in the transition to GT, even at a very young age. In my opinion Gabriel has already managed to show great speed in a very short time, as soon as he got this opportunity from Nova Race and I am very proud of that. I see a great career ahead of him and this also gives me the opportunity to emphasise that apart from working with him and his family first and foremost I am a big fan of Gabriel’.
COMMENT GABRIEL MORETTO (rider) ‘It was a very good test and I am very happy with how the day went. In the shifts I did I managed to get more and more used to a car that is very nice to drive and also very high performance. I think it was a very constructive test for what will be my future in motorsport and for this reason I’d like to thank all those who contributed to its success starting with my manager Augusto Farfus and Christian Pescatori from Nova Race, as well as everyone in the team staff for the help they gave me during the test at Cervesina’.
